Pre-Operative Testing Center

For Patients:
Welcome to the Surgery Center Pre-Operative Testing unit. The purpose of our unit is to complete the pre-operative testing and inform you of instructions required for your surgery. This allows us to identify potential problems or irregularities prior to surgery.

Some of the pre-operative tests include: laboratory work (blood and urine), electrocardiogram and chest x-ray. These tests can be completed by your physician/HMO and faxed or brought with you to your testing appointment. Please make the appropriate arrangements to meet this requirement. Failure to do so may result in a delay or cancellation of your surgery. Please call us at (202) 444-2746 to schedule your testing appointment. Our fax number is (202) 444-4208. You will also have the opportunity to discuss your anesthesia with a nurse practitioner from the Department of Anesthesia. Nursing assessments and consent forms will be reviewed and pre-operative instructions will be given.
